Eric D. Manes Mr. Manes serves as a Senior Financial Economist in the Governance Finance and Trade division of ADB’s Mekong Department where he leads the strategic, operational and knowledge-based aspects of financial sector development in Cambodia and Lao PDR. Prior to joining ADB in March 2000, he was consultant to Visa International’s Emerging Europe credit department and before that, a financial sector specialist for the World Bank. Covering eleven countries in Eastern and Central Europe during the Region’s transition in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Mr. Manes advised governments and business leaders while designed and implementing reform programs in support of banking development, trade liberalization and corporate restructuring. During his tenure, he was member of the teams designing the first IFI operations in Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia and Lithuania and assumed a lead role in the development of the banking sector in the Russian Federation. . Mr. Manes
did his doctoral work in economics at The Johns Hopkins University in
Baltimore Maryland, USA and attained a mid-career Masters of Finance from
the London Business School, United Kingdom. He received his Bachelor’s
degree from The College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia, USA. |
